Soundtracks

Music for films and ballets

Over the years John Cale has written the score for numerous films, a TV show and a ballet. He got his first chance in the early 70s, scoring films associated with the Factory (Women in Revolt, Heat). He also tried to get into the soundtrack department of Warners in 1971, but after a botched attempt to score a scene for The Omega Man - director Boris Sagal dit not like his work at all - that door kept closed for him.

After a slow start a small flurry of soundtracks have been released from the Nineties on, most of them on Belgian record label Les Disques du Crépuscule.

Notes:

Most of his soundtracks & scores have not been released as a stand-alone item. Hunting down a DVD or VHS of the movie in question is quite a challenge.

Cale songs feature on movie soundtracks.
