Started out as a commission for The Giornate del cinema muto de Pordenone, a silent film festival in Italy, for a screening of the classic silent movie The Unknown on October 15, 1994. The American silent horror film was directed in 1927 by Tod Browning, starring Lon Chaney as carnival knife thrower, and Joan Crawford as the love interest.
Also performed in Brussels (October 18, 1994) and Lyon (December 8, 1994).
