This compilation covers the 1970-1990 period and includes rare tracks like Jack The Ripper. The 50-page booklet contains liner notes by Barry Alfonso. The label used a rather corny text for the hype sticker on the slipcase:
The only comprehensive anthology of this alternative godfather!
38 tracks on 2 CDs spanning 20 years (1970 - 1990) including rare and unreleased tracks plus detailed sessionography with photos and commentary from Cale!
Dixieland And Dixie was originally recorded in 1972 as the A-side for a single to fulfill a contractual obligation for CBS. The single itself was never released.
Temper is an outtake of The Academy In Peril, previously released on the promotional compilation Troublemakers (Warner PRO A 857, 1980).
Jack The Ripper previously released on These People Are Nuts! (I.R.S. #82010, 1989).
Also of interest are the included tracks from Caribbean Sunset (the title track) and Comes Alive (Waiting For The Man and Ooh La La - albeit in a quite different mix). These albums were never released on CD.
