Performs at the screening of Process at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, Germany on February 8. He only added a bit of synthesizer, some breathing, screaming, reciting, singing (bits of Over Her Head) and, at the very end of the movie, some gorgeous, loud noise generated with an electric guitar.

He wrote the soundtrack for this movie too, which is totally different.

Por Vida: A Tribute To The Songs Of Alejandro Escovedo

On March 20th he performs with Bob Neuwirth at Las Manitas in Austin, TX as part of the annual Alejandro Escovedo show, who is suffering from Hepatitis C.

It is a preview for the Por Vida: A Tribute To The Songs Of Alejandro Escovedo album to which he contributes his cover of She Doesn't Live Here Anymore.

He performs the song again during a another fundraiser at the Paramount Theatre, Austin, Texas on November 4th.

Rykodisc 20th anniversay

"Paris 1919" on Rykodisc 20th Anniversary 2CD

The track Paris 1919 is included in the limited edition 2CD set celebrating reord label Rykodisc 20th anniversary. It is the live version taken from Fragments Of A Rainy Season.

Factory days return when photographer Billy Name directs an extensive photo shoot. A couple of his prints are used as promotion material for the HoboSapiens album.

Red Hot Chili Peppers cover "Fear Is A Man's Best Friend"

Guitarist John Frusciante performs Fear Is A Man's Best Friend at a Red Hot Chili Peppers show in Manchester at Old Trafford on June 18.

HoboSapiens in America

This album is finally released in America by Or Music, with the hidden live track Set Me Free right in the open as the closing song. The label throws a celebration release party at the Bryant Hotel in New York on September 13. The invitation includes a free copy of the Things / Things X single in a special sleeve with photos made by Billy Name.
